From Trash to Treasure: Coloring Our Way to a Greener World
The young minds today make the future of tomorrow. Students of junior school were given an entertaining and engaging session on sustainability which included a fun coloring session. We gave a coloring sheet to students, and taught them how recycling of textile is a crucial part of saving our environment, by integrating creativity and learning.
Wear It Forward: A Donation Drive to Give Pre-Loved Clothes a New Purpose
One man’s trash is another man’s treasure. This quote stands strong when it comes to recycling textiles into new products. We at Gyaananda collected about 50-60 kgs of old or rather pre-loved clothes from our neighbors, relatives, friends, and everyone we could find. We got huge donations right after the colorful festival of Holi on 5th March, where white clothes turned pink and green. All the clothes we collected were sent further to industries like Kay Gee, where they were shredded and reused as raw material for recycled products like bags, rugs, duvets, and whatnot.
This donation drive helped us students understand and gain a better perspective on how to repurpose clothing which isn’t wearable anymore.
